Oxford Eyes. Elevate Your Eyewear.
Our One & Only Story
It was the 5th grade when Verbelee rocked her first pair of blue cat-eye glasses.
Ironically, she still rocks a pair today. Locally owned and operated, Verbelee Nielsen-Swanson believes everyone should have a personal collection of eyeglasses that reflect their unique style, moods and needs. Verbelee’s distinguished background with a large corporate brand has taught her first hand that the right pair of glasses can leave a lasting impression.
“Eyewear is an expression of you, and the first accessory people will notice. It’s in your best interest to get it right.”
There is an Eye in Team
Committed to integrity, service, creativity, quality and elevated industry knowledge.
The Oxford Eye team features a talented collection of beautiful personalities and committed eyewear professionals. With over 80 years combined experience, we are truly a dream team.

Board Certified Optician
Michelle is a Board Certified Optician and started in the optical industry in 1983. With 15 years of experience as a lead optician for the Altamonte Springs CIGNA Healthcare Center, and 17 years as a technician with Orlando-based Optometrist, Dr. Jack Yager, Michelle brings a wealth of knowledge and unparalleled determination to Oxford Eyes.
As a technician, Michelle became a master in contact lens fitting, pretesting, and complete eye exams; she truly knows all of the ins and outs of the industry and is an invaluable member of the Oxford Eyes team.
Lisa says “it’s all about the look.” This is the philosophy she lives by from past experience in her fashion career; from dressing clients to adding cosmetics to complete looks. Lisa loves building relationships and listening to her client’s needs.
Working in cosmetics taught Lisa that feeling confident is contagious, and she always aims to make her clients feel educated and comfortable. When changing her career path, building relationships is what brought Lisa to the optical industry.
Today, Lisa is American Board of Opticianry (ABO) and National Contact Lens Examiners (NCLE) certified, and educates clients on lens product knowledge, and how it fits their lifestyle in their day-to-day adventures. Fifteen years later and 30 pairs of glasses to go with every outfit, she has found her niche and is looking forward to helping clients feel good for years to come.
Diane Jungferman is Oxford Eyes’ revered lab technician. With over 40 years of experience making eye glasses, Diane is one of the premier technicians in her field.
Diane started her career at Eckerd Optical, and then spent 18 years with Drs. Swanson, Sowers, Lee and Yager as their laboratory manager. During that time, Diane mastered her skills edging the very intricate designs of Lindberg and Silhouette, and worked at one of the largest Essilor laboratories in Florida, instructing everyone on her refined techniques.
At Oxford Eyes, Diane is able to customize any style of glasses for clients, and she does so with an eye for perfection and passion for her work.
