History
Our One & Only Story
It was the 5th grade when Verbelee rocked her first pair of blue cat-eye glasses.
Ironically, she still rocks a pair today. Locally owned and operated, Verbelee Nielsen-Swanson believes everyone should have a personal collection of eyeglasses that reflect their unique style, personality and lifestyle needs. Verbelee’s distinguished background with a large corporate brand, matched with a longstanding family stewardship in the optical business, has taught her firsthand that the right pair of glasses can leave a lasting impression.

Debora Ramirez
Licensed Optician, Optical Manager
Debora, LDO, ABO, NCLE, has worked in the Orlando community for over 25 years helping style and dispense eyeglasses to thousands of clients. Having an esteemed background as an optical manager for all of the Orlando CIGNA Healthcare Centers, and revered doctors, Swanson, Sowers, Lee and Yager, Debora has the expertise to help clients find their dream frames and lenses, and uniquely fit them for the most comfort and best vision possible.
Debora wholeheartedly believes that a perfect fit makes all the difference when it comes to a client’s vision, and she looks forward to bringing her passion and prowess to Oxford Eyes. She currently lives in DeLand with her husband Jim, and their cat, “Kitty.”
Michelle Williamson
Board Certified Optician
Michelle is a Board Certified Optician and started in the optical industry in 1983. With 15 years of experience as a lead optician for the Altamonte Springs CIGNA Healthcare Center, and 17 years as a technician with Orlando-based Optometrist, Dr. Jack Yager, Michelle brings a wealth of knowledge and unparalleled determination to Oxford Eyes.
As a technician, Michelle became a master in contact lens fitting, pretesting, and complete eye exams; she truly knows all of the ins and outs of the industry and is an invaluable member of the Oxford Eyes team.
Lisa Sarles
Licensed Optician
Lisa, LDO, ABO, NCLE, says “it’s all about the look.” This is the philosophy she lives by from past experience in her fashion career; from dressing clients to adding cosmetics to complete looks. Lisa loves building relationships and listening to her client’s needs.
Working in cosmetics taught Lisa that feeling confident is contagious, and she always aims to make her clients feel educated and comfortable. When changing her career path, building relationships is what brought Lisa to the optical industry.
Today, Lisa is American Board of Opticianry (ABO) and National Contact Lens Examiners (NCLE) certified, and educates clients on lens product knowledge, and how it fits their lifestyle in their day-to-day adventures. Fifteen years later and 30 pairs of glasses to go with every outfit, she has found her niche and is looking forward to helping clients feel good for years to come.
